Shoutout to Jesse Octavio-Callejo who just finished his sophomore season at Pacific University in Oregon. #98 finished the season with 27 tackles and 1 sack for the Boxers!
The JROTC Cadets conducted their JROTC Program Accreditation (JPA) today. This inspection occurs every three years and includes inspections of the Cadets' uniforms, marching, Cadet Portfolios, Continuous Improvement plan, Service Learning Briefing, and Color Guard. Their outstanding preparation and work led to a 96%, which helped us maintain our Honor Unit with Distinction! Special Thanks to 1st SG Moore and LTC Roque for all your hard work and dedication. All your effort is visible in our community!

Aaron Guerrero and Hiram Lopez, graduates of the class of 2024, visited our school today. During lunch, they took time to interact with our students, sharing insights and experiences. Both Guerrero and Lopez are now proud Marines who once participated in CTE programs. Their visit served as an inspiration, showing students the paths they can pursue after graduation!

During a classroom observation, RRHS Culinary Arts students engaged in preparing turkey as part of their laboratory experience. Ms. Mavis provided immediate feedback throughout the session, guiding students with specific, hands-on instructions. She emphasized proper techniques to ensure the turkey was prepared safely. Our students are lifelong learners!

Rio Rico High School CTE students recently had the opportunity to present to Calabasas 8th grader Students. C. Monreal from Pima Community College Dual Enrollment program was also present, promoting college awareness and the advantages of starting college courses in High School. RRHS counselors explained the variety of JTED program opportunities. Special thanks to Calabasas Staff for hosting this great event.

Middle school students had the chance to engage directly with CTE Ambassadors, who shared their experiences and insights about various career pathways available at RRHS. C. Monreal from Pima Community College was also present, emphasizing the importance of Dual Enrollment and how it helps students earn college credits while still in high school. This outreach aimed to inspire and inform young students about the valuable opportunities awaiting them at RRHS. Special Thanks to CTMS Staff for allowing showcase our programs!

SOFTBALL W1NNING THE OFF-SEASON!
Shoutout to head coach, Curtis Ruiz, for his leadership this offseason. Saturday, he brought in former players of his who were able to share some motivational words for our Hawks while taking part in an offseason scrimmage.
Afterwards, the program shared a Thanksgiving meal together which included 70 people combined between parents, players and coaches.

This Week in Athletics, 11/18-11/23
The RRHS Stagecraft students organized their lab. Work-Based Learning (WBL), a vital component of Career and Technical Education (CTE). This hands-on experience teaches students to apply their classroom knowledge in a practical setting. Special thanks to Assistant Principal Mr. Vidal, Ms. Carrasco, and, most importantly students. Theater will be announcing their next play soon.
