Planting trees at Calabasas

Calabasas Tree Day was a success! We had around 40 volunteers show up to help plant trees. We wanted to thank all the clubs and club sponsors who showed up, Sam Rafalko and Fernanda Fernandez with elementary and middle STUCOs, Virginia Garayzar with the Gardening Club, NJHS members,  the Kind Club, and Home Depot Foundation. Students and their families showed up with tools and ready to work. In just a couple of hours, 10 trees were planted and watered. We also want to give a HUGE shout-out to the RRHS Ag class, specifically Richard McPherson for providing a backhoe and Ernesto Lopez and Talan Pacheco for driving it over and digging the holes. They helped make our day run so smoothly. Many thanks to Ken Stern and the Home Depot Foundation for supporting our project and providing extra trees, soil, tools, and manpower. It was truly a community event and we hope the trees will grow quickly and provide much-needed shade and beauty for our students and families to enjoy for years to come.
