Programs

Calabasas School programs are first rate. Our highly qualified teachers and our exceptional staff members work together to carry out the fine activities of our everyday learning. Please visit the pages below to find out more about what our school has to offer.

School Programs

We are excited to be a part of the 21st Century community learning program, which assists us in providing academic enrichment opportunities during non-school hours for our students. This program helps our students meet state and local student standards in core academic subjects such as reading and math.

Through the 21st Century program, we are delighted to offer evening math classes for students and parents as well as morning and evening English learning classes for parents.

Continued participation in these classes is evidence that our Calabasas family members are interested in striving for knowledge and making a better life for themselves. We welcome all who would like to participate.

Athletics

At Calabasas, our students have the opportunity to participate in intramural sports, which is a terrific way to prepare for the high school sports program if they choose to do so-or if not, to have a great time learning a sport, developing good sportsmanship, and staying fit. We invite all who would like to participate. For more information in regards to Cougar Athletics you may contact Arlette Jordan our Athletic Secretary via telephone at 520-375-8678

Art

Creativity is flowing at Calabasas with our wonderful art program. Please take a moment to visit our K-5 grade Art Room to see some of the wonderful pieces of artwork created by our students.

Band

Do you play a band instrument? We are proud to offer band and jazz band groups for interested musicians. Music is a great way to develop your talents and your brain as well as a positive way to spend your valuable time. Join the fun, and participate in the Calabasas band.

NEHS - NJHS

We are proud affiliates of the National Elementary Honor Society for 4th and 5th grade, and the National Junior Honor Society for 6th -8th Grade. National Honor Society elevates a school's commitment to the values of scholarship, service, leadership, character, and citizenship. The National Honor Society started in 1921 by an association of principals. It was the first honor society created across the country. At almost 100 years old, the NHS is one of the most well-known educational and leadership groups. Developing and maintaining a chapter of the NEHS and NJHS is a proud accomplishment of a school and is a source of pride for our Calabasas Cougars as we celebrate the holistic assessment of student achievement.

Student Council

Student Council (STUCO) provides student leadership with representation from all grade levels. In addition to acting as a liaison between students and faculty, STUCO provides many different activities and services for students and their families. They also perform charitable acts and service for the community. STUCO members make a significant effort to give special recognition to others in order to build school spirit and pride within the student body.

Those interested in joining the Calabasas Student Council are welcome to run for an office within your grade level. Student elections take place at the end of each school year for the upcoming school year.

Technology

We live in a computer world. Today's youth have a natural sense when it comes to doing their work on computers, and we at Calabasas have taken full advantage of the technical opportunities available to us. Our classrooms are equipped with computers, which are available for student research and learning activities as well as teacher instruction.

Additionally, our computer club is open to all students with special interests and talents and who want to learn more about computers in this technology-based world. We encourage you to visit our Technology Room to learn more about our classes.

Kind Club

The Kind Club will work on ideas and events that will boost the culture and climate at our school for staff and students. Kind Club is a powerful, innovative program designed to promote and recognize academic achievement in schools. Its process, a comprehensive change in attitude, is an entirely new way of thinking that brings academic achievement to the forefront in Calabasas School. It helps students experience the true joy of learning, recognizes educators as dedicated and valued professionals, and increases involvement of parents and local businesses.

C.A.S.H. Club

The Cougars Advocate Student Health Club is a club for our Cougar students to advocate for their fellow schoolmates. This club and it's participants are dedicated and committed to improving the mental health and wellness of all the students on campus.
